I went to Mary Bradford's studio, Prana Rasa, for a lovely Shirodara treatment, perhaps the most relaxing experience I've had. Shirodara means head (Shiro) flow (dara) and involves warm, therapeutic oils. Mary is a trained Ayurvedic practitioner and provides the treatment in the comforting, calm, clean space of Prana Rasa in midtown. Highly recommended. I can't wait for my next experience.

"I have to admit I was somewhat skeptical before my first shirodara treatment. However Mary Ruth Bradford was very patient, and answered all my questions. During the treatment she took the time to guide me through each step in the process before it happened so that I was comfortable with the chakra chants. Then she was patient as the oil temperature had to be altered for my comfort. She provides a quiet environment for the treatment. Since my first treatment I have had a second one and would recommend it to anyone who is need of total relaxation for both body and mind."
