The most radical way to cleanse the body in Ayurveda is Panchakarma which literally means five actions. The treatments are tailored to the individual, usually including far-infrared sauna, oil massage, and Shirodara. Shirodara is the administration of a stream of warm oil on the forehead, inducing deep relaxation. These treatments can be scheduled on an à la carte basis. Easily digested kitchari (lightly spiced split mung beans and rice) is provided for meals during Panchakarma.
